We give you every chance to develop your career and feel happy and motivated in your role, so we can collectively deliver the best possible outcomes for our students.

For support staff, there are a range of CPD opportunities, including apprenticeships and other vocational professional qualifications that we support, as well as in-house training courses via the Outwood Institute of Education to upskill staff. View these below:

Early Career Development

A tailored two year training programme for early career teachers, ensuring that they have a brilliant start to their career in the teaching profession.

Teaching and Learning

We offer a range of programmes and events which support teaching and learning development and are suitable for colleagues focussed on their skills in the classroom, designed and delivered in partnership with OGAT’s SLEs.

Subject Development

Our subject programmes include both subject knowledge based training and subject pedagogy training designed and delivered by OGAT SLEs. OGAT staff can also access the OIE’s national programmes.

Leadership Development

Our Transform Outwood leadership programmes stretch from middle leadership through to executive leadership. These can be studied alongside the National Professional Qualifications, delivered in partnership with the National Institute of Teaching. OGAT staff can also access other national OIE programmes, such as the highly successful Unlocking Potential: Women Into Leadership programme!

Support Staff Development

Training is available for all members of the support staff workforce, from teaching assistants to finance assistants. The offer include Transform Outwood leadership programmes for operational staff to practical training such as accredited First Aid.

National Professional Qualifications

National Professional Qualifications, when studied as part of the OGAT Transform Curriculum, offer new and aspiring leaders a comprehensive professional development throughout their leadership career.

Online Learning

The Outwood Family is delighted to work with The Skills Network to offer funded qualifications via distance learning for staff.

The Outwood Hubs

The OIE is delighted to have the Yorkshire and Humber Maths Hub and the Outwood English Hub as part of its network. OGAT staff can benefit from the hub’s range of research projects and CPD opportunities.

Apprenticeships

Outwood are delighted to work in partnership with LMP Education to offer a range of apprenticeships for staff.
